In the food industry it should be performed after every hand washing or food contact with the hands. The significantly more thorough surgical hand disinfection should only be performed prior to surgery or invasive procedures.

Hygienic hand disinfection 1. Wash hands: Wash hands thoroughly with liquid soap (preferably pH neutral and moisturising) from the dispenser. Recommended procedure: • Cut fingernails short and file edges smooth. • Remove rings, watches and other jewellery. • Wash the entire palm, wrist, back of hand and fingers with warm water and suitable pH-neutral liquid soap from the dispenser. • Rub hands together for at least 15 seconds. • Use a nail brush if necessary. • Dry hands with a paper towel. 2.
