System Models:
1. μCT 50
2. μCT 100
Geometry and Energy:
Both models utilize Cone-Beam geometry with a peak energy range of 30-90 kVp. They feature variable focal spot sizes from 5-30 μm (4-18W) and include a filter changer with options for Al, Mb, Cu, or none.
Scanning Capabilities:
μCT 50: Scan diameter of 4-50 mm, maximum scan length/height of 160 mm.
μCT 100: Scan diameter of 10-105 mm, maximum scan length/height of 160 mm.
Both models support an automatic sample changer for up to 12 holders with multiple specimens.
Resolution and Image Matrix:
μCT 50: Nominal resolution of 500 nanometers, <2 μm at 10% MTF.
μCT 100: Nominal resolution of 1.25 μm, <4 μm at 10% MTF.
Image matrix ranges from 512 x 512 to 8192 x 8192 for both models.
Computing Specifications:
Both models are equipped with HP Integrity Servers (64 bit) with options for rx2660/rx3600 or bl860/bl870 configurations.
RAM: μCT 50 supports 4 to 32/96 GB, μCT 100 supports 4 to 256 GB.
CPU: μCT 50 supports 1 to 4 CPUs, μCT 100 supports 1 to 32 CPUs.
Disk capacity ranges from 300 GB to multiple TB for both models.
Reconstruction time is 3 seconds for 1k x 1k images using 1 CPU, with typical analysis time of 5 minutes.
Clustering of multiple servers is possible to enhance throughput.
Applications:
μCT 50 is suitable for cortical bone imaging at 1 μm resolution.
μCT 100 is designed for larger field of view applications, such as human femur imaging with a 100 mm FOV and 30 μm voxel size.
