Product catalog summary
Overview
The Automatic On-Line Ca++ Analyser System by SCHMIDT + HAENSCH provides fast and reliable analysis of calcium ion (Ca++) content in process fluids, enabling continuous monitoring and optimization of industrial processes. This system contrasts with traditional laboratory analysis by offering real-time data and adjustments.

Principle of the Method
The system is PC-controlled and can analyze up to five different products in sequence. It uses complexometric titration with EDTA to measure Ca++ content in thin juices. The process involves a sample collection and selection module, an analysis module, and a system control module. Samples are pre-cooled, selected automatically, and pumped to a central measuring reactor where they are titrated.

Sample Selection
Samples are pre-cooled using a flow-through heat exchanger. The system can handle up to five different products, with automatic selection via the customer's monitoring system. The customer provides a stainless steel circuit line with a 24V electrically driven valve, ensuring continuous juice flow.

Titration Process
The titration reactor is a water-jacketed glass vessel maintained at 20°C. The sample is measured, and a buffer solution is injected to reach a defined pH. Titration with EDTA follows, and the Ca++ content is calculated based on the titration endpoint.

System Control
A personal computer controls all system modules, allowing individual parameter settings. The control program manages sample selection, feeding, rinsing, titration, and result output. It also includes a cleaning cycle and error-reporting line.

Standard Features
The system automatically measures up to five process fluids, displays and records data, and allows adjustable titration sequences. Results include pH and Ca++ levels, with automatic storage of routines and an adjustable analysis plan. It has a protection class of IP 54.

Extra Performance Options
Additional features available for extra charge include data transmission with 4-20 mA connections and data transmission to a database.

Principle of the Method The PC-controlled system enables the analysis of up to 5 different products in a defined operated sequence, depending on the factory. The automatic on-line Ca++ analysier system measures and calculates the Ca ++ contents of thin juices by means of a complexiometric titration. The active decalcification column will trigger the analyser via the customer’s data monitoring system. The data sequences need to be defined by Schmidt+Haensch, a RS 232 bidirectional interface will be provided. The automatic Ca ++ analyser system measures the Ca ++ content by means of an EDTA titration...

Titration The sample flows from the sampling station to the titration reactor. This is a water-jacketed glass vessel that is temperated to 20 °C using a thermostate; on one side it has an overflow funnel. First, the reactor is rinsed and then filled with the sample. A glass tube is positioned in such a way, that excess fluid is removed by suction using a water-jet or peristaltic pump, a defined volume of the sample (e.g. 50 ml) are measured off. A combined electrode, temperature sensor and a mixer dip into the reactor. When the temperature of the sample is close enough to 20 °C a buffer solution...
