Product catalog summary
Definition and Purpose
The Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging (AGS) system is an active system designed to remove anaesthetic gas mixtures from operating rooms and areas with nitrous oxide terminal units. This system helps eliminate potential long-term health hazards for medical staff by capturing and removing gas pollution at the source.
Features
The system is easy to install and maintain, with factory-set and tested settings for reliability. It includes a digital control panel indicating pipeline pressure, which is adjustable from the outside. The design minimizes pressure drop, enhancing plant performance and preventing large dust particles from entering the pump.
System Configurations
There are two main configurations: simplex and duplex systems. A duplex system is recommended to ensure continuous operation in case of a blower malfunction, as it automatically switches to a standby unit. Simplex systems are allowed, but HTM 02-01 recommends having a spare pump for immediate connection in case of failure.
Standards and Compliance
The AGS systems comply with HTM 2022, HTM 02-01, and ISO 7396-2 standards. They incorporate adjustable orifices to align with various standards, including BS 6834 and EN ISO 7396-2.
Technical Specifications
The system uses side channel vacuum pumps with 100% oil-less operation, integrated inlet filters, and vacuum or pressure relief valves. The regenerative blowers offer high performance in a quiet, contact-free environment, requiring minimal maintenance and convertible to two-stage operation.
Remote Control and Operation
AGS systems can be controlled remotely via switches with ON/OFF buttons and indicators for normal operation, plant faults, and emergencies. The outlets are made of brass and chrome-plated, designed according to BS 6834: 1992 and other relevant standards.
