The MicroFISH® Assay System is an innovative technology designed to simplify and reduce the cost of Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) assays. It allows for the condensation of up to 8 probes onto a single slide using only 1 microliter of cell sample and probe per hybridization, significantly reducing probe costs by over 75% and technician hands-on time by more than 75%.
The system can cut probe costs per test by up to 90%, offering substantial savings, especially in high-volume laboratories. For example, using a 6-probe panel with 5 µl of probe per sample, the cost savings can reach up to $400 per panel.
The workflow is streamlined, involving the dispensing of 1 µl of fixed cells into wells, optional pretreatment, and the addition of 1 µl of probe solutions. A single coverslip is placed over the wells, and the slides are denatured in the CytoBrite System before being transferred to a humidity-controlled MicroFISH Hybridization Oven. The Little Dipper Processor automates the washing and drying of slides, preparing them for counterstaining and visualization.
For laboratories with high sample volumes, the Scorpion™ Slide Preparation Robot automates the dispensing of cells and probes for up to 12 MicroFISH slides in under 30 minutes. It also provides detailed patient reports, tracks probe inventories, and produces both paper and electronic score sheets.
The system ensures high-quality probe signals by regulating temperature and humidity. It provides accurate temperature control with built-in verification and controls wash temperature and time to lock-in signals.
