NoZone® WS Workspace

NoZone® WS Workspace

Product catalog summary
Product Overview: The NoZone WS Workspace is a benchtop enclosure designed to provide a clean, ozone-safe, low-light environment for microarray work. It is compatible with the Little Dipper Processor and can be used for manual sample preparation and slide processing. The workspace maintains an ozone level below 5 parts per billion (ppb), protecting sensitive fluorescent dyes and eliminating the need for costly re-tests due to ozone damage. It is easy to set up with pre-assembled panels and does not require filter replacements. An ozone filtration performance certificate is provided.
Specifications:
  • Voltage: 7.5-15 VDC
  • Energy Consumption: 16.2 Watts
  • Dimensions: Outside - 25 x 46 x 29 inches (64 x 117 x 74 cm); Inside - 24 x 44 x 26 inches (61 x 112 x 66 cm)
  • Weight: Enclosure - 54 lbs (25 kg); Scrubber - 9 lbs (4 kg)
  • Filtration Flow Rate: 70 cubic feet per minute (cfm)
Automated and Manual Array Processing: The workspace features a flexible curtain for manual processing of up to 16 arrays with the Hybex Microarray Incubation System. It also supports automatic post-hybridization processing of up to 24 arrays using the Little Dipper Processor.
Research Use: The NoZone WS Workspace is intended for research use only, specifically for protecting ozone-sensitive microarray samples during processing.
Success Story: A testimonial from Dr. Lisa Shaffer highlights the effectiveness of the NoZone Workspace in resolving issues caused by high ozone levels in a lab environment, leading to a joint publication on the effects of ozone on microarrays.
Publication: The effects of ozone exposure during microarray post-hybridization washes and scanning were documented in the Journal of Molecular Diagnostics (J Mol Diagn. 2009 Nov; 11(6): 590–597).

We ul mately traced the problem to high levels of ozone in the lab from air pollu on. Fortunately, SciGene easily solved the problem by providing us with benchtop NoZone Workspaces to filter out the ozone. Our work with SciGene ul mately resulted in a joint publica on on the effects of ozone on microarrays (J Mol Diagn. 2009 Nov; 11(6): 590–597).” Lisa Shaffer, Ph.D., FACMG Former President, Signature Genomic Laboratories from PerkinElmer, Spokane, WA The NoZone WS Workspace features a flexible curtain to allow for manual processing of up to 16 arrays with the Hybex® Microarray Incuba on System.
