Typically, I use a 50/50 blend in the deeper tissue. By utilizing the 50/50 blend at that depth I can apply the most power – up to 40 watts. However, since “you are essentially draining liquefied fat and fluid,” smaller cannulas and equipment can be employed instead of standard cannulas and vacuum pumps that mechanically disrupt and remove fat. “Incisions become insignificant therefore you can use more incision points for less scarring and a finer result,” he advised. For large areas, the 1319 nm wavelength “is a better wavelength for quicker and faster heating of the tissue. But for small areas, like the chin/neck, I tend to use 1064.” Non-proprietary fibers help curtail disposable costs. “We reclaim these fibers by resterilizing them,” Dr. Goodman explained.
