The purpose of this manual is to familiarize the user with the function, care and maintenance of the Simulaids Adam CPR™ and AJ CPR™ training manikins. It is not meant to provide instruction in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or other emergency life support procedures. Please read it thoroughly before attempting to use your manikin. INFLATION When the head is in a neutral position, the ball in the AIRWAY CUT-OFF VALVE is in a forward position, preventing air from entering the lungs. This replicates an obstructed airway of an unconscious person in need of emergency ventilation. (Fig. #2) When proper head tilt and chin lift is applied, the ball will roll rearward and open the valve. This allows the air to pass through the corrugated tube in the neck and the nonrebreathing valve. Air then enters the lung and causes a visible rise in the chest. DISASSEMBLY 1. After removing shirt and carotid pulse bulb assembly, remove CHEST SKIN from torso and remove/discard the disposable lung. (Fig. #4)

2. Remove EXHAUST TUBE from port at base of torso. (Fig. #5) 3. Stand torso upright and remove mouth/nose piece from face. Remove HEAD by unsnapping the two tab strips and lift from torso with valve and tubes attached. (Fig. #6)

4. Remove AIRWAY CUTOFF VALVE from inside the head by unthreading nut inside oropharyngeal area. (Fig. #7) Set aside for cleaning and disinfecting. NOTE: AIRWAY CUTOFF VALVE, MOUTH/NOSE pieces and LOWER AIRWAY may be cleaned and disinfected by following the procedure described in the manual. (Lungs cannot be reused.) CLEANING & DISINFECTION The only components of Adam CPR™ and AJ CPR™ that require scrupulous disinfection is the AIRWAY CUT-OFF VALVE and the MOUTH/NOSE pieces. No. 100 DEFIBRILLATION TRAINER Do not open electronic boxes. There are no user serviceable electronic parts. Lay manikin down, face up with neck collar when storing. Before using this unit read all directions carefully. Manikin Connections: Manual Defibrillatior: Install proper adapters in the defibrillation sites on the overlay skin.
