CT Radiation Protection

SOMATEX® introduces CT-Eye ProteX and CT-Gland ProteX, setting new standards for active radiation protection. These products are particularly beneficial for pediatric patients undergoing cranial CT exams, where there is an increased risk to eye lenses and the thyroid gland. Ionising radiation can cause cloudiness of the eye lens and, at higher doses, radiation cataract. Therefore, protecting the eye lenses and thyroid gland during cranial CT examinations is strongly recommended.

Radiation Reduction

A scientific study by Beuth University of Technology Berlin demonstrated that the SOMATEX® CT-Eye ProteX, when used with X-CARE, significantly reduces radiation exposure by up to 50%. This highlights the effectiveness of the product in enhancing patient protection during CT exams.
