UTL Series - Latch Locking Connector
The UTL Series connectors are designed to meet industrial safety standards, suitable for power and control supply with DMX or RDM signals. They feature a unique 'Keyhole' shape for blind mating, a stainless steel latch coupling system, and are rated IP68/69K for dynamic conditions. Made from outdoor-rated materials, they are suitable for continuous underwater use.
These connectors are used in sectors such as instrumentation and measurement, telecom and data infrastructure, energy and power, medical, building automation and control, and stage and light.
The connectors are waterproof, UV resistant, UL/IEC compliant, and feature a quick release mechanism. They are designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, with no mechanical degradation or significant color variation due to environmental exposure.
The range includes straight overmolded connectors with or without strain relief, various types of contacts, and options for terminating resistance. Configurations include plug, receptacle, and backshell options.
Made from thermoplastic housing and copper alloy contacts, with a stainless steel latch, these connectors are designed for engagement or disengagement under load, with first mate last break contact mating on the ground line. They comply with standards including UL 1977, IEC 61984, and are RoHS compliant.
Operating temperatures range from -40°C to +105°C, with a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0. They are resistant to salt spray, UV, and various fluids, are halogen-free, and have a durability of up to 1,000 matings.

Evaluation kits are available, comprising connectors, contacts, and heat shrink boots for easy assembly, rated at IP67 for protection against dust and water ingress.
The assembly process involves placing the heat shrink boot over the cable, stripping the cable jacket and individual wires, crimping the contacts, and positioning the boot over the rear threads. The boot is then heated to a minimum shrink temperature of 80°C and a full recovery temperature of 110°C.
The current carrying capacity is determined by the thermal properties of the materials used. The IEC 60512 standard provides a derating curve to determine the maximum permissible current.
Tested for UV resistance according to ISO 4892-2 and UL746C standards, with materials rated F1 for high resistance to UV degradation.
Compliant with UL94 and UL1977 standards, covering flammability and electrical safety requirements. Rated at 5VA for vertical burning tests.
Connectors are marked with the manufacturer's trade name, catalog number, and electrical ratings. They comply with standards for rated voltages above 50V and up to 1000V, and rated currents up to 125A per contact.
