STILLE instruments are precious The instruments on a hospital represent a large investment. As all investments, it needs to be taken care of. When we service and repair instruments, it’s quite c ­ ommon that we find STILLE instruments that were manufactured already in the middle of the last century. This would never have been possible without the hospital’s investment in quality and correct service and maintenance. By taking good care of their instruments, the hospital can minimize the need to purchase new i ­nstruments and thereby save a lot of money. STILLE has manufactured surgical instruments of the absolutely best quality since 1841. Still today, just like 175 years ago, the instruments are mainly manufactured by hand, all the way from forging to shaping, grinding, polishing and adjustment. Probably nobody knows better than STILLE what characterizes an instrument of good quality and endurance, or how correct maintenance can increase its life expectancy and contribute to better patient safety. STILLE Service resets the instruments in a shape as close as possible to new. An instrument's life expectancy increases substantially when it's serviced regularly, especially cutting instruments. We care for the instruments' life expectancy and try to affect the instruments as little as possible during service. We remove less material from the cutting edges to allow more sharpening in the future. Scissors are always taken apart to allow sharpening correct sharpening.
