The ANY-maze Infrared illuminator - 1

Part number: 60540 March 2017 Overview The ANY-maze infrared illuminator can be used to track in low light or even complete darkness. All modern cameras are sensitive to infrared (IR) light, although some lenses include infrared blocking filters. Provided your lens doesn't include this type of filter (none of the lenses we supply have a IR block filter), then by using an infrared illuminator, your camera will be able to 'see in the dark'. Some of our mazes and test apparatus include parts made in black Plexiglas - for example, the dark side of the light/dark box. The material we use is infrared transparent, so by using an infrared illuminator your camera will be able to see through it. For example, this would allow you to track in both the light and dark side of the light/dark box. In some experiments, you may wish to alter the light levels during the tests. Severe changes in the lighting can interfere with the tracking, but this can be overcome by fitting your lens with a visible light blocking filter and then using an infrared illuminator to track ONLY in infrared. Thus the visible light levels can be altered without affecting the tracking at all.
