HydroSpeed™

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The HydroSpeed™ plate washer is designed to optimize the washing of cells, beads, and ELISAs, addressing common challenges such as cell detachment, bead loss, and needle clogging. It incorporates advanced features to enhance reproducibility and efficiency in laboratory settings.
Cell Washing
Loosely adherent cell lines like P815 and HEK293 require gentle washing to prevent cell detachment and ensure reproducibility. The HydroSpeed washer offers Cell Protection™ with features such as dropwise dispense speed, optimized dispense position, and tunable aspiration parameters to minimize cell loss and reduce costs by eliminating the need for a dedicated cell washing head.
Magnetic Bead Washing
For multiplexed assays using magnetic beads, the HydroSpeed washer uses a patented design with two magnets per well to improve bead recovery rates. This design keeps beads away from needles during aspiration, achieving low residual volumes and maintaining high bead recovery rates. Features include powerful rare-earth magnets and adjustable vacuum levels.
ELISA Washing
To prevent needle clogging during ELISA washing, the HydroSpeed washer features an Anti-Clogging™ function that automatically rinses and soaks the wash head when idle. The wash head is easily removable for ultrasonic cleaning, simplifying maintenance and enhancing productivity.
Operational Features
The HydroSpeed washer supports both 96- and 384-well formats with an easy-to-use touchscreen interface for full on-board operation. It includes a new plate assistant function, a pre-defined plate library, and a 96 indexing wash head for flexible application use. The washer is designed for reliable integration into robotic platforms and features a pressure-based liquid level detection system for waste management.
Specifications
The HydroSpeed washer offers various wash head types and volumes, with performance metrics such as wash times, dispense accuracy, and residual volumes specified for both 96- and 384-well formats. It operates on a power supply of 115 V / 60 Hz or 230 V / 50 Hz, with a consumption of less than 300 VA.
Regulatory Compliance
In combination with HydroControl™ software, the HydroSpeed washer provides FDA CFR 21 Part 11 functionality, including electronic records, signatures, and audit trails.

Are you washing away your cells? Loosely adherent cell lines, such as P815 and HEK293, are commonly used for a wide range of research applications, but are challenging to wash for typical plate washers. Excessive dispense speeds can cause detachment of cells and holes in the cell layer. Coupled with loss of cells during poorly controlled aspiration, this can lead to reproducibility issues and high CVs, resulting in failed experiments, repeat testing and a loss of productivity. Are your magnetic beads being washed away? Multiplexed assays using magnetic beads are becoming increasingly popular for a variety of applications, but achieving good wash results without losing beads remains a challenge. Automated washing protocols often suffer from low bead recovery rates due to insufficient bead settling by weak magnets. Poor control of aspiration parameters also makes it difficult to achieve low residual liquid volumes without significant loss of beads, leading to inconsistent results and high CV values. ■ri.r^nco oyoc Loss of magnetic beads due to insufficient bead settling...

Are you suffering from needle clogging during ELISA washing? Automated ELISA processing using a microplate washer is now a routine task for many laboratories, yet crystallization of wash buffer within the aspiration/dispense needles remains a common problem. This causes clogging of the needles while the washer is idle between plates, and can lead to loss of entire runs as a result of overflowing wells. Cleaning of wash heads is laborious and time consuming, and can significantly affect productivity if washers are integrated into automated liquid handling systems.
