Intended Use For the colorimetric determination of potassium in human serum and plasma on TC Matrix analyzers. Principle The amount of potassium is determined by using sodium tetraphenylboron in a specifically prepared mixture to produce a colloidal suspension, the turbidity of which is proportional to the potassium concentration in the sample. Linearity: 2 – 7 mEq/L Reagent Deterioration : Do not use if: (1) The reagent is very cloudy; (2)T he reagent fails to achieve assigned value on fresh control serum. Limitations of Procedure: Turbid or icteric samples produce falsely elevated results
