The Miller pattern blade is the most popular of the straight blade styles. This is especially true for paediatric use where the...

The curvature of the blade allows the tip to fall naturally into position in the vallecula of the patient and the wide ange assists in holding the tongue safely aside during intubation. The Miller pattern blade, developed by Dr Robert Miller of San Antonio, Texas, is the most popular of the straight blade styles. This is especially true for paediatric use where the extended curve at the tip of the blade facilitates easy anterior lifting of the...

The Robertshaw paediatric blade features a straight tongue with a gently curved tip, designed to lift the epiglottis indirectly. It is also benecial for nasotracheal intubation as it facilitates the use of Magill forceps with a minimum loss of view. The Wisconsin blade features a more open rear prole allowing even greater visualisation than the Miller blade. The ange of the Wisconsin widens slightly towards the distal end to give better control of the epiglottis. 2970.235.10 Optima CLX Robertshaw Infant No.1 112x12mm 2970.400.10 Optima CLX Wisconsin Infant No.1 102x11mm 2970.400.05 Optima...

The levered tilting tip can then be used to raise the epiglottis and offer comfortable access to the trachea for intubation. OPTIMA viewmax The Viewmax blade features a concave blade spatula, which actually allows an improved view of the larynx and surrounding...
