Vascular Surgery Vascular Flowprobes Transonic’s Vascular Flowprobes measure volume flows intraoperatively in vessels from 0.5 mm to 20 mm to detect blood flow obstructions before leaving the operating room. This ability to correct otherwise undetectable flow restrictions provides the surgeon with a unique opportunity to improve the outcome for his or her patient. The FMV-Series simple J-style-style reflector defines the ultrasound flow sensing window, holds ultrasound couplant gel in place, and maintains the vessel in alignment with the probe. A flexible neck allows positioning of the probe head to conform to vessel orientation. On vessels where there is concern that compression may loosen calcified plaque, -FME carotid endarterectomy Flowprobes with an L-style reflector can be used. Non-constrictive reflectors: Ultrasonic sensing window OptiMax Flowprobes also offer two reflector shapes and five sizes to accommodate different surgical preferences and patient anatomies. The skin tabs secure the Flowprobe so that continuous measurements can guide vascular constructions, banding or revisions. After the target flow is attained and the procedure is completed, the Probe can then be quickly removed. The “L”-reflector Flowprobe design allows the probe to be slipped on and off a carotid artery easily, facilitating quick preand post-procedure measurements. Non-handle (Basic) Flowprobes Non-Handle Flowprobes (FSB-Series) feature an ultrasonic flowsensing window defined by a L-bracket with a sliding closure. When the L-bracket is closed, the Flowprobe can remain positioned around the vessel for extended measurements.
