Product catalog summary
Description
The Newborn Skull phantom is designed for medical imaging research and treatment planning, particularly for non-invasive HIFU brain surgeries. It is crafted from a patented epoxy-based bone material suitable for Ultrasound, MRI, and X-Ray/CT applications. The design mimics an average newborn skull, with customization options available.

Anatomy
The phantom is based on the anatomy of an average newborn human skull and uses realistic bone-mimicking materials.

Design
The manual includes various views of the phantom: front, perspective, lateral, and top.

Technical Properties
The phantom's cortical bone has a sound velocity of 3000 ± 30 m/s, density of 2.31 g/cm³, and attenuation measured at 2.25 MHz is 6.4 ± 0.3 dB/cm. Thermal properties include a conductivity of 0.776 W/m K and a speed of sound of 3070 m/s. The HU value for cortical bone is 1300.

Materials Used
The phantom is made from a synthetic, ceramic-reinforced epoxy-based composite material.

Size and Weight
The phantom measures 4 x 6 x 5 inches and weighs approximately 2 lbs. The shipment size is 12 x 10 x 10 inches, weighing approximately 6 lbs.

Included In Order
The package includes the Newborn Skull Phantom, a user manual, a 2-year warranty, unlimited customer service, and a hard carry case.

Handling Instructions
The phantom can be scanned using standard protocols and positioned horizontally or vertically. It supports anterior, lateral, and posterior techniques.

Storage and Handling
Made from urethane-based material, the phantom should be protected from intense UV light and stored in a dry, dark place when not in use.

Cleaning
The phantom is water-resistant and can be cleaned with water or soapy water. It is resistant to chemicals, but testing is recommended for stronger solvents.

TRUE PHANTOM SOLUTIONS INC. SL-N01 | User Manual • The phantom is water-resistant and can be cleaned after use. It is ideal for cleaning it either with water or with soapy water. It is also quite resistant to chemicals, but if stronger solvents are meant to be used with the phantom, we recommend doing a small test on the bottom part of the neck or legs. The phantom should be placed on its belly, and the chosen solvent can be applied on a small, selected surface of the phantom for a few hours. If there is no visible effect on the phantom's surface, it is safe to assume that the phantom is resistant...
