Essential for Infant Airway Carts and Delivery Rooms infant Specialized, Rigid Indirect Laryngoscope for Infant Use Enables both visualization of ET tube entry and correct ETT placement in oral and nasal intubation procedures Provides a wide and magnified laryngeal view at 46° anterior refracted angle Recommended for use in patients 1 to 10 kgs/ body weight Integral attachment for connecting oxygen. Flow rate of 2 to 5 liters per minute will provide insufflation, prevent misting and improve patient safety Allows intubation in the preferred neutral position avoiding hyperflexation and hyperextension Quick Guide Step 1 To prevent fogging, connect the Truview EVO2 Infant blade via the oxygen port to O2 or medical air supply line at rate of 2-5 liters per minute. For improved control of t i p o f E T T, i t i s recommended to use the Infant size OptiShape™ stylet in the ET tube during intubation. Ensure length of stylet is correctly positioned in ETT to prevent stylet from protruding from tube eye. Indirect intubation in infants can be performed by advancing the laryngoscope blade centrally, mid-mouth over the tongue or, after visualization through optical eyepiece, by advancing the blade from the right side of the mouth, pushing the tongue to the left. Begin looking through the eyepiece. As soon as you see the uvula advance slowly, as in infants the epiglottis is very close. Position the ET tube with stylet along the side of the blade. As soon as you see the tip of the ET tube in the eyepiece, advance the ETT slightly upwards and to the left, towards the tip of the blade. As soon as you see the epiglottis lift the blade slightly to see the vocal cords. As soon as you see the tip of the ETT passing the cords maintain a steady grip on the ETT while an assistant removes the stylet. Then advance ETT further into the trachea.
