OPEN ACCESS STATIONS INTRODUCTION UNO Open Access Stations provide personnel, animal and environmental protection while offering utmost efficiency for cage changing operations. Open access on two sides provides ample work space for one or two operators to transfer animals from dirty cages to clean ones. For maximum productivity, the mobile station may be transported down aisles between cage racks while an operator works from eachside. Room air enters the top of the station and passes downward through prefilters and a HEPA filter and over the work area. This HEPA-filtered vertical laminar airflow provides ISO Class 5* clean air in the work area to protect the animals from environmental and cross-contamination. At the same time, room air is drawn into grilles located on the work surface directly below the sash openings to ensure containment and to help protect the operator from allergens. Generous work area of 48” x 22.5” accommodates standard rodent cages. Two 32-watt fluorescent lights illuminate the interior and are accessible from either side for replacement. Recessed and angled sashes allow the operator closer, more comfortable viewing without glare. The 1/4” thick, clear polycarbonate sashes are shatter-resistant, lightweight and easy to clean.
