Calibration Method
The HMK15 uses a reliable method based on saturated salt solutions to generate specific relative humidity levels. This method is widely accepted in calibration laboratories. Typically, two or three different salt solutions are used, chosen based on the application. Available salts include:
  • Lithium chloride LiCl (11 %RH)
  • Magnesium chloride MgCl2 (33 %RH)
  • Sodium chloride NaCl (75 %RH)
  • Potassium chloride KCl (85 %RH)
  • Potassium sulphate K2SO4 (97 %RH)

Certified Salts
Certified and pre-measured salts can be ordered with the HMK15. Each salt batch is sample calibrated in Vaisala’s Measurement Standards Laboratory, which is FINAS accredited.
