Field-Specific Target
This feature creates a target structure for each treatment field to address setup errors, internal target motion, and range uncertainty around the clinical target volume (CTV). It optimizes the target for each treatment field by considering heterogeneities along the beam path.

New Proton Optimizer
The optimizer harmonizes the interface across proton and photon planning applications and supports intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT). It allows the use of biological objectives during optimization, such as mean objectives and equivalent uniform dose objectives. It provides enhanced optimization information, including structure optimization cost, objectives cost function information, 2D dose visualization, and automatic optimization mode.

Robust Optimization
This feature bases optimization on patient CTV to maintain target coverage and acceptable organ-at-risk (OAR) sparing while considering uncertainties. It increases OAR sparing without compromising target volume and supports both single- and multi-field optimization. It addresses planning issues like patient positioning uncertainties, range uncertainty, intra- and inter-fraction motion uncertainty, and robustness of junctions between fields.

Scripting API
The expanded API interface supports proton planning and allows users to create site-specific scripts for planning, QA, data mining, and research.

Acuros® PT Advanced Dose Calculation for Proton Therapy
This feature incorporates the impact of heterogeneities and treatment accessories during dose calculation using a proton Monte Carlo algorithm. Key features include calculating dose deposition kernel, supporting range shifter and aperture (block/MLC), and validation against MCNPX. It supports energies from 68 MeV to 250 MeV.
