The Vena® SIL 640 is platinum-cured silicone compliant with several standards, including US FDA Standard 21 CFR 177.2600, German BfR Standard part XV, USP Class VI <88> in vivo tests at 121°C, ISO 10993-4, 5, 6 & 10, ResAp 2004 (5) according to Reg 1935/2004/EEC and Reg 10/2011/EEC, European Pharmacopoeia 3.1.9, and 3A Sanitary Standards 18-03 Class I and 62-02 Class I. Applications

It is often used to detect metal particles during the filling of food products like cream or baby food.

Properties
The silicone is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic, with a translucent and smooth inner appearance and a white or colored smooth outer appearance. It can be fitted with 316L stainless steel fittings with a roughness value of less than 0.8 μm (or 0.5 μm on request). The operational temperature range is from -60ºC (-76ºF) to +180ºC (356ºF), with short-term peaks up to +200ºC (392ºF). Standard manufacturing length is 4 meters (13.12 ft), with specific diameters available up to 6 meters (19.69 ft).
