Academy Mattress 415 Silent solution with great results and to increase stability, a foam layer is incorporated in the base of the mattress. A middle layer of very smooth fabric is fitted over the mattress compartments. The mattress cover is made of waterproof, low friction material and fits loosely over the inner mattress, to prevent “hammocking”. The Vicair Academy Mattress 415 is designed for persons with a highly increased risk of developing decubitus or with existing decubitus stage 1-3. They are protected by the hundreds of air-filled SmartCells® in the mattress. The mattress does not need a motor to function, making it a silent solution that does not create unrest. It can be used in both clinical and home care situations. The mattress can be used on any type of bed frame and keeps the bed mobile, because of its low weight (10 kg). Product description The mattress consists of 36 compartments. Each compartment is filled with its own specific number of SmartCells, to provide optimal support to all different parts of the body. The V-shape of the middle compartments helps to prevent bottoming out. For further protection against bottoming out The combination of the middle layer and the cover allows an optimal immersion into the mattress, which results in optimal pressure distribution. It also helps to reduce shear forces and friction, even when the patient is sitting in a half upright position. For which user type? The mattress is designed for users with a highly increased risk of developing decubitus or with decubitus stage 1-3. The Academy Mattress 415 (further) provides results in cases such as rheumatism, burn injuries care, cancer, terminal illness, spasms, kyphosis and in pain management. Usage The double rings on the corners of the mattress are used to loosely attach the bed sheet. It is possible to fold the mattress. To make transport easy, the mattress is fitted with 4 carrying handles. The handles are strong enough to enable an emergency evacuation with a patient on the mattress. CPR can be performed on the mattress without the use of a crash board. The information flap at the foot end of the mattress contains basic instructions for use and allows easy identification in the clinic. Cover Low friction, waterproof. Cleaning The mattress’ inner cover can easily be cleaned with a standard disinfectant or detergent. The Low Friction outer cover is water proof and can be machine washed at 60ºC. It can be washed at higher temperatures, but this may slightly reduce the lifespan. Do not steam clean or autoclave the mattress.
