IL28B RealFast Assay

IL28B RealFast Assay

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed information about the ViennaLab RealFast™ Assays, focusing on their application in predicting therapeutic responses and detecting genetic polymorphisms related to various health conditions.
IL28B RealFast™ Assay: This assay is designed to predict the success of antiviral therapy and sustained virologic response (SVR) in Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infected patients. It is particularly useful for identifying the TT>∆G dinucleotide frame-shift variant in the IFNL4 gene, which is a strong predictor of HCV clearance. The assay is available in two pack sizes: 100 reactions and 32 reactions.
Key Features:
  • Fast and easy handling with results in less than 90 minutes.
  • Ready-to-use reagents with controls for wild type and mutant genotypes.
  • Compatible with various real-time PCR instruments.
Applications: The document lists various RealFast™ Assays for detecting genetic markers associated with different conditions, including:
  • Carbohydrate Intolerance: LCT -13910C>T assay for lactase non-persistence.
  • Cardiovascular Diseases: Assays for FGB -455G>A, FV Leiden, FXII 46C>T, FXIII V34L, MTHFR 677C>T, and PAI-1 4G/5G.
  • Genetic Predisposition: HLA-B27 assay for ankylosing spondylitis.
  • Haemochromatosis: HFE C282Y and HFE H63D assays.
  • Pharmacogenetics: HLA-B5701 and SLCO1B1c.521T>C assays.
Multiplex Testing: ViennaLab offers multiplex assays for simultaneous detection of multiple genetic mutations, which saves costs and sample material. Examples include:
  • Cardiovascular Diseases: FV-PTH mpx and MTHFR mpx assays.
  • COPD/AAT Deficiency: AAT mpx assay.
  • Pharmacogenetics: CYP2C9 mpx assay.
Additional Information: The document mentions other diagnostic applications covered by ViennaLab RealFast™ Assays, such as Carbamazepine Hypersensitivity and Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. For more details, the document refers to the ViennaLab website.

ESTABLISHED INNOVATIONS IN DIAGNOSTICS IL28B RealFast™ Assay The accurate way to test the therapeutic response therapy in Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infected patients Key to a successful antiviral therapy The IL28B RealFast™ Assay helps to predict the success of antiviral therapy and sustained virologic response (SVR) in HCV infected patients. Chronic HCV infection affects around 1% of the world population and is the leading cause of cirrhosis, liver cancer and liver transplantation. Pegylated interferon/ribavirin (pegIFN/RBV) therapy is the treatment of choice for HCV infection. SRV is dependent on virus genotype as well as on patients' factors including genetic polymorphisms. The TT>AG variant in the IFNL4 gene is the strongest known host factor for predicting HCV clearance. Genotyping of TT>AG helps to predict the outcome of pegIFN/RBV therapy independent of a patient's ethnicity. The TT>AG dinucleotide frame-shift variant appears, if present, in the human interferon lambda 4 (IFNL4) gene/ pseudogene, which is located upstream of the gene encoding interleukin 28B (IL28B). Homozygous carriers of the favorable TT allele are predisposed to an up to 3-fold higher sustained virological response (SVR) than carriers of the AG allele.
