Retention Forces and Dimensions

The VulkanLoc® system offers retention components with varying retention forces measured in Newton-centimeters (Ncm), ranging from 30 Ncm maximum. The soft tissue spacer thicknesses vary from 0.7 mm to 1.5 mm, with corresponding component heights (h) from 1.0 mm to 6.0 mm. Specific part numbers are assigned for each size and retention force, for example:

• 6 mm height, 1.5 mm soft tissue: VEXT11R6000
• 5 mm height, 1.5 mm soft tissue: VEXT11N5000 and VEXT11R5000
• 4 mm height, 1.5 mm soft tissue: VEXT11N4000 and VEXT11R4000
• 3 mm height, 1.5 mm soft tissue: VEXT11N3000 and VEXT11R3000
• 2 mm height, 0.7 mm soft tissue: VEXT11N1000 and VEXT11R1000

Color-Coded Retention Rings

Retention rings are color-coded by retention force, with references and approximate retention in pounds (lbs):

• Red (Ref: L0401 X4) - 1.0 lbs
• Blue (Ref: L0402 X4) - 1.5 lbs
• Pink (Ref: L0403 X4) - 3.0 lbs
• Transparent (Ref: L0404 X4) - 5.0 lbs
• Orange (Ref: L0405 X4) - 2.0 lbs
• Green (Ref: L0407 X4) - 4.0 lbs
• Black (Ref: L0400 X4)

Angular Specifications

The system supports angular variations of 10°, 20°, and 40°, with some components specified at 10° or 20° angles.

Material and Coating

The VulkanLoc® abutments are made from Grade 5 Titanium and feature a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, ensuring durability and biocompatibility.

System Type

The system uses an external hex connection design, suitable for overdenture applications.
