In general surgery, it can be used, for example, in suturing parenchymatous organs. In vascular surgery, it can be used to reinforce anastomosis. In cardiac surgery, CORTEX is indicated as a pad for suturing he left ventricle after resection of an aneurysm, for reinforcing the fragile aortic wall or other large vessels during their acute dissection, or as a reinforcing small pad under individual sutures when stopping bleeding from any site on the heart or large vessels.
