The PP Mesh Extra Large Pore is a non-absorbable, macroporous surgical mesh made from polypropylene monofilament. It is designed to offer excellent mesh properties, including strength, elasticity, and easy handling. The mesh can be cut to size without altering its mechanical properties.
The mesh is highly biocompatible due to its macroporous design, which facilitates faster incorporation into the body and reduces foreign body reactions. It is suitable for placement in the preperitoneal space, which lowers the risk of hernia recurrence.
Pore size is 3.0 × 2.8 mm, and the weight is 47 g/m².
The mesh is designed for permanent support, augmentation, or replacement of aponeurotic structures of the abdominal wall, such as in large ventral hernias. It is suitable for both inguinal and ventral hernia treatments.
The mesh can be used in both open surgery and laparoscopic approaches (TEP and TAPP).
The mesh is available in various sizes and shapes, including rectangles and squares, with specific catalogue numbers for each size. It is sterilized by ethylene oxide and has an expiration date of three years from the date of manufacture.
