Product catalog summary
Introduction to QuEChERS Method:
The QuEChERS method, an acronym for Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe, is a sample preparation technique used for multi-residue analysis of pesticides, veterinary drugs, and mycotoxins in food and agricultural products. It involves dispersive solid-phase extraction (d-SPE) and is known for its simplicity and efficiency.
Advantages of DisQuE Solutions:
  • Reduced time for sample preparation.
  • Cost-effective and efficient.
  • Reliable and high-quality products in a convenient format.
Scientific Basis:
The method involves using specific buffers and solvents for different sample types. For example, the CEN Method 15662 uses a citrate buffer, while the AOAC Method 2007.01 uses an acetate buffer. The process includes adding acetonitrile, buffering salts, and centrifugation to extract pesticides, followed by d-SPE cleanup.
Sample Preparation Protocol:
The protocol involves homogenizing the sample, adding acetonitrile and internal standards, shaking, centrifuging, and transferring the supernatant for cleanup. The final extract can be analyzed using GC/MS or LC/MS/MS.
UPLC and MS Conditions:
Details of the UPLC system and MS conditions are provided, including column specifications, temperature settings, flow rates, and mobile phase compositions.
Product Selection for Sample Cleanup:
Different d-SPE products are recommended based on the commodity type, such as general fruits and vegetables or those with fats and waxes. Additional treatment with graphitized carbon black (GCB) is suggested for pigmented fruits and vegetables.
Ordering Information:
Details of various DisQuE kits and cleanup tubes are provided, including their contents, quantities, and part numbers.
Quality Assurance:
Waters' manufacturing facilities comply with ISO 9001 standards, ensuring high-quality product manufacturing.

The Science Behind DisQuE To overcome the deficiencies of traditional methods, an improved extraction procedure was developed (Anastas iades et s al.)* to extract pesticides from fruits and vegetables. The procedure is based on an initial single-phase extraction using 10 or 15 g sample with acetonitrile at 1 mL acetonitrile per 1 g of sample. A liquid-liquid partition is created by adding excess salts and buffers to the extract. After centrifugation, the acetonitrile layer, containing the pesticide, is collected. The matrix can be further cleaned and the excess water removed, with a single d-SPE...
