For those hearing aid users with severe to profound hearing loss, power is the key. But power should not be at the cost of sound quality. Nor should it sacrifice design. The new WIDEX SUPER™ hearing aid is one of the smallest yet most powerful RITE’s available. It provides maximum amplification within the minimum housing. It gives users unsurpassed natural sound and access to sounds they may not have heard before. And it provides unparalleled maximum output in the lower frequencies. And with SUPER, users with severe to profound hearing loss can better determine the direction of sounds....

^ The power to hear more For the first time a hearing aid that lets super power users hear sounds they may not have heard before. WIDEX SUPER is the only super power hearing aid with the Audibility Extender, which expands the range of audible sounds and is shown to improve speech perception in people with severe to profound hearing loss. Orientation of sound It's not just important to hear, but also to localise sounds. WIDEX SUPER gives super power users the opportunity to determine the origin of the sound with features such as a unique IE compression system and Digital Pinna.

Many users with severe to profound hearing loss have never experienced a three-dimensional soundscape before and are reliant on visual cues to help them. Simply determining if someone is approaching from in front or behind has not been possible; in effect, directionality is new to them. But sensing the direction of sound sources for example, is vital if hearing aid users are to enjoy better hearing. The unique InterEar TruSound compression system in WIDEX SUPER supports the accurate localisation of speech and environmental sounds*. By exchanging data between hearing aids, the IE TruSound...

THE POWER TO HEAR MORE

Audibility Extender The Audibility Extender uses linear frequency transposition to expand the range of audible sounds by moving inaudible sounds - like high-frequency speech and environmental sounds - down to lower frequencies where they can be heard. B Unprocessed signal | Processed signal B Transposed high-frequency signal We believe that audibility is the key to a successful hearing aid. This may sound obvious, but no matter how good the technology, the ultimate goal is to provide better hearing for hearing aid users. They should have access to all sounds, not just speech or loud sounds,...

Improving speech in noise Handling feedback, minimising whistling Improving speech in noise The high amount of gain in super power fittings demands a precise and well functioning feedback cancelling system to prevent the hearing aid from whistling. Communicating in a noisy environment is one of the most challenging situations for any hearing aid users, but for users with severe to profound hearing loss (with a very limited hearing ability as well as decreased frequency resolution) hearing in noise can be even more challenging. The IE Feedback Cancelling system in WIDEX SUPER doesn’t just...

Pinna effect The average shadow effect of the pinna. Sounds coming from the front are 3-4 dB louder than sounds coming from the back. Front-back diff Frequency Average Better orientation For many BTE users, it can be difficult to determine whether a sound is coming from the front or from behind because their hearing aid can disturb the natural pinna shadow effect created by the outer ear. The HD Locator in WIDEX SUPER features a Digital Pinna that compensates for this and recreates the natural shadowing effect of approximately 4 dB. For users who have had difficulty orienting themselves...
