DNase I Set

Product catalog summary
Product Description:
DNase I is an enzyme that cleaves both double-stranded and single-stranded DNA, resulting in 3’-OH oligonucleotides. It is primarily used to degrade DNA in the presence of RNA, making it suitable for applications such as nick translation, random fragment production, genomic DNA cleavage for footprinting, and removal of DNA templates after in vitro transcription. It is also used to remove DNA from RNA samples before downstream applications like NextGen sequencing and RT-PCR. This enzyme is compatible with RNA kits that feature in-column DNase digestion.
Specifications:
The product is a recombinant Deoxyribonuclease I (DNase I) set. One unit of DNase I is defined as the amount that increases the absorbance of a high molecular weight DNA solution by 0.001 A260 units per minute per milliliter of reaction mixture at 25°C.
Shipping & Storage:
Store the product at room temperature (20-30°C). After reconstitution, keep it on ice until use or store frozen aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Instructions for Use:
To reconstitute the lyophilized DNase I at 1 U/µl, add 275 µl of DNase/RNase-Free Water and mix by gentle inversion. For setting up a DNA-free RNA reaction, adjust the sample volume with water or TE buffer to 40 µl, add 5 µl of DNase I, and 5 µl of DNA Digestion Buffer. Mix gently and incubate at room temperature for 15 minutes. Follow with RNA clean-up using products like RNA Clean & Concentrator™-5 (#R1015).
