Wax Eater Ear Speculum/Otoscope Cleansing device Any ear examined with an otoscope is going to result in a contaminated ear cone speculum. The Wax Eater otoscope speculum cleaner is designed to mechanically remove wax plus disinfect the otoscope speculum between each and every clinical use. This reduces the risks of inadvertently spreading pathogenic organisms i.e. yeast, mites or even Pseudomonas spp. to patients. The specially designed brushes get into hard to reach areas of the otoscope speculum. The brushes are in a disinfectant solution of choice. A Wax Eater should be readily available in every exam room or anywhere where an otoscope is used. Weekly cleaning is recommended and we suggest attaching a piece of tape with last cleaning date to base of Wax Eater.
